Fan accessories help you connect, control, and protect all the fans in the computer. Here you will find speed and RGB lighting controllers, splitters and hubs, dust filters, metal grilles, anti-vibration mounts, and converters between different types of lighting. With them, even a build with many fans remains quiet, organized, and easy to manage.
How to choose
- Hubs and splitters. If the motherboard has few connectors, the hub allows you to connect several fans to one connector. Hubs with SATA power do not overload the motherboard connector.
- Speed controllers. External controllers manage the speed of the fans manually or automatically, without software on the motherboard. Some work wirelessly.
- RGB controllers. They control the lighting of fans and strips if the motherboard does not have suitable connectors or you want separate control.
- Filters and grilles. Dust filters keep the computer clean inside. Metal grilles protect the blades and fingers, especially in open installations.
- Anti-vibration mounts. Rubber mounts replace screws and reduce the buzzing that transmits to the case.
- Converters. They allow you to connect a 12V RGB device to a 5V ARGB system or vice versa when the brands do not match.
What to watch out for
- The splitter only sends one speed signal – the motherboard sees all fans as one.
- Do not connect more fans to one connector than its power allows.
- RGB (12V) and ARGB (5V) are not interchangeable without a suitable converter.
- The filter and grille must be the same size as the fan.
- Some controllers only work with the software of a specific brand of fans.
Compatibility
The sizes of filters and grilles follow the standards of fans – 80, 92, 120, and 140 mm. Hubs and controllers connect to standard 3- and 4-pin connectors, and lighting connects to RGB or ARGB connectors on the motherboard. For strips and panels with lighting see RGB strips, and for additional parts for the case – case accessories. Before purchasing, count the fans and free connectors on the motherboard to know how many outputs you need.
