Cooling accessories solve small but important tasks when assembling and maintaining the water loop. Here you will find mounting brackets for blocks, spacers, pump and reservoir stands, radiator bolts, seals, inserts to prevent deformation of hard pipes, temperature sensors, pump housings, and pipe clamps. They are rarely in the spotlight, but without them the loop often cannot be completed or maintained properly.
How to choose
- Mounting brackets. If you are changing the platform, a new bracket allows you to use the same CPU block on a new socket. Check the model of the block and the socket.
- Stands. The stands for pump and reservoir are mounted in a fan spot or at the bottom of the case and keep the parts stable.
- Sensors. The liquid temperature sensor shows the actual temperature in the loop and allows the fans to be controlled based on it.
- Bolts and seals. Spare radiator bolts and O-rings for pumps save the installation when something is lost or worn out.
- Inserts for hard pipes. They are placed in the pipe under the fitting and protect the thin-walled pipes from deformation.
- Housings and backplates. The radiator housings for the pump dissipate its heat, while the backplates strengthen the board.
What to watch out for
- Spare parts are usually for specific models of blocks and pumps – check compatibility.
- Radiator bolts must be the correct length to avoid piercing the channels.
- The temperature sensor connects to the corresponding input on the motherboard or controller.
- The inserts are for a specific diameter of the pipes.
- The seals should be replaced with every disassembly of a pump or block if they are worn out.
Compatibility
Many accessories are made for specific models of blocks, pumps, and radiators, so always compare the description with the parts you have. The sensors and plugs use standard G1/4 thread. For connecting parts see fittings, and for pumps and reservoirs – pumps. If you need installation tools, see tools. It is good to have a few spare seals and bolts on hand, as small parts can easily get lost during disassembly.
