Clear filtersUseful when choosing
The dash cam records the road in front of and behind the car and provides evidence in case of a traffic accident, dispute with an insurer, or an unpleasant situation in a parking lot. Here you will find dash cams from 70mai, VIOFO, DDPAI, and other brands – with one, two, or three cameras, mirrors with recording, as well as installation and power supply kits.
How to choose
- The number of cameras. One front camera is the minimum. Dual-channel systems record both front and back, while three-channel systems add a camera for the cabin – useful for taxis and carpooling.
- Resolution and sensor. 2K and 4K provide clearer license plate numbers. The sensor and HDR processing are important for night recording and in bright sunlight.
- GPS. The built-in or external GPS records speed and location, which is useful for proving a situation.
- Parking mode. The camera monitors the car while parked and records in case of impact or movement. A kit for direct connection to the fuse box is needed for this.
- Connection to the phone. Wi-Fi and the app allow quick viewing and downloading of recordings without a computer.
What to watch out for
- Use a memory card designed for continuous recording – regular cards wear out quickly.
- Mount the camera behind the rearview mirror so it does not obstruct visibility.
- The installation kit with low voltage protection keeps the battery from draining.
- The summer heat in the cabin is a test for electronics – models with supercapacitors withstand better than those with batteries.
- Check how the camera is secured – with an adhesive sticker or suction cup.
- Recordings are overwritten automatically, so save the important clip immediately after the event.
Compatibility
Dash cams are powered from the cigarette lighter socket or directly from the fuse box and work with any car. For charging your phone in the car, check car chargers, and for navigation – phone holders. If the dash cam does not come with a memory card, choose a card with high endurance for continuous recording. The recordings protect both you and the car, so it’s good to periodically check if the camera is recording properly.
