The liquid for water cooling transfers heat from the blocks to the radiators and protects the components of the loop from corrosion and algae. Here you will find ready-to-use premixed liquids, concentrates for dilution with distilled water, transparent and densely colored liquids in various colors, as well as cleaning agents for the loop. Quality liquid keeps the blocks and radiators clean and extends the life of the pump.
How to choose
- Premix or concentrate. The premix is ready to pour and is the easiest choice. The concentrate is mixed with distilled water according to the instructions and is more economical for a large loop.
- Transparent or opaque. Transparent liquids are the easiest to maintain and leave almost no sediment. Opaque and colored liquids look impressive but require more frequent cleaning of the loop.
- The color. There is a wide selection of colors – green, blue, red, yellow, orange, purple, and pink, as well as semi-transparent effects like “fog.” Match the color to the lighting and components in the case. Under UV light, some liquids glow additionally.
- The quantity. A standard loop with a processor and video card holds about one liter of liquid. Take a little extra for topping up.
- Cleaning agent. Before the first filling and when changing the liquid, rinse the loop to remove residues from manufacturing and old liquid.
What to watch out for
- Do not mix liquids from different brands and types – sediment may form.
- Do not use tap water – the minerals in it leave deposits.
- Opaque liquids can stain transparent pipes and clog the fine channels of the blocks.
- Keep liquids away from children and pets.
- Follow the recommended replacement period, usually one to two years.
Compatibility
The liquids work with all standard components – copper, nickel, brass, acrylic, and acetal. Do not use them in a loop that has aluminum parts together with copper ones. If you use soft PVC pipes, choose a transparent liquid to reduce staining. For installation and filling, the reservoir and suitable fittings with a drain valve will be useful. When changing the brand of liquid, first rinse the loop with distilled water or cleaning agent.
