Asgard is a relatively unknown Chinese memory manufacturer that has rushed to outpace all other larger brands with the official announcement of its first mass DDR5 memory.

DDR5 memory 64GB

The shown kit carries the catchy name VMA5AUK-MMH224W3. The specific model that was presented has a 64GB capacity, but the company confirmed that it will also be offered in variants with 32GB and 128GB. The nominal voltage of the modules is 1.1V, which is less than the standard 1.2V for current DDR4 modules. The specifications adhere to the "B" standard of JEDEC, which means that their timings will be set to 40-40-40.

What is more interesting in this case is that the Chinese announced when they plan to launch them into mass production, namely at the same time when we expect to see the 12th generation Intel processors, known by the codename "Alder Lake". They are expected to be officially presented in September, with a possible market launch in the fourth quarter of this year.

The company spokesperson also announced which products and platforms from AMD and Intel will support DDR5 in the future. Asgard plans to produce memory for the mobile "Tiger Lake" (which officially supports LPDDR5-5400), "Alder Lake" desktop, as well as "Sapphire Rapids-SP" server solutions from Intel. As for AMD, this will include the product series from "Van Gogh" and accordingly the "Rembrandt" APUs.
