This is a technology that renders the game you are playing at a lower resolution than the one you are viewing, and then uses 2-phase algorithms to upscale the image with minimal loss of quality.
- Who is it for?:
For all gamers! Completely free, with no restrictions. Only specific support from the game is needed.
- What hardware does it work on?:
On any. Literally. The technology works on both AMD Radeon and Nvidia GeForce cards.
- How does it compare to Nvidia DLSS?:
Surprisingly well. At this stage, it visually lags behind the competition, but we don't have an exact basis for comparison, as there are still no available games that support both options simultaneously.
- What can we expect in the future from FSR?:
AMD confirms that FSR 1.0 is just the beginning and they are actively working on future versions to improve performance and visual aspects.
