It seems we won't have to wait much longer for RDNA 4. In just a month, AMD may unveil its new series of graphics cards, which attracted attention with its rather unusual announcement at CES. Although AMD avoided specifying a specific launch date, it ultimately became clear that it would be in March.
During its latest financial results conference for the fourth quarter of 2024, AMD's CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, confirmed that the launch will take place in early March. She explicitly stated that the cards will be available for sale, which suggests full product availability, not just pre-orders. Furthermore, she emphasized that the company will focus on the largest segment of the enthusiast market. Typically, when cards are not aimed at the highest tier, they are classified as mainstream or performance-oriented, so the term used here is interesting.
“In the gaming graphics card segment, revenues declined year-over-year as we accelerated sales through distribution channels in preparation for the launch of our next generation Radeon 9000 graphics cards. Our focus with this generation is to target the largest market segment of enthusiast gamers with our new RDNA 4 architecture. RDNA 4 provides significantly better ray tracing performance and adds support for AI-based scaling technology, which will deliver a high-quality 4K gaming experience to mainstream gamers when the first graphics cards from the Radeon 9070 series go on sale in early March.”

Recently, rumors emerged that AMD is planning a special press conference for the Radeon RX 9070 series at the end of February. According to these rumors, this is the plan unless something unforeseen occurs. It now seems that Su confirmed this information as the market debut is scheduled for early March.
It should be noted that Su specifically mentioned the 9070 series, not the 9060. Although there is a possibility that AMD may touch on other models, for now, it seems that the launch is focused on the higher-end cards.
On NVIDIA's side, the company has still not officially confirmed its plans for the RTX 5070 series. However, as reported earlier, RTX 5070 Ti will be launched on February 20, and RTX 5070 will follow later, although a specific date has not yet been provided. Unlike AMD, NVIDIA has already announced the prices of its cards:
- RTX 5070 Ti – 749 USD
- RTX 5070 – 549 USD
Meanwhile, AMD confirmed that the new Radeon naming system is designed to better reflectNVIDIA's competitive models.
