Useful when choosing
The operating system is the foundation on which everything else on the computer runs. Here you will find Windows 11 Home and Pro in Bulgarian and English, older versions for specific needs, client licenses for Windows Server, as well as professional programs for document handling.
How to choose
- Home or Pro. Windows 11 Home is for home, learning, and gaming. Windows 11 Pro adds disk encryption with BitLocker, remote desktop, joining a corporate domain, and more control over updates.
- The type of license. The retail version (FPP) comes with a USB medium and key. The OEM version is intended for installation on a new computer. The electronic license is delivered as a key without a physical medium.
- The language. The Bulgarian version has a Bulgarian interface from the very beginning. The English version is convenient if you work with programs and instructions in English. Additional languages can usually be added from the settings.
- Document programs. The category also includes professional software for PDF and text recognition, which is often used together with a new system in companies.
- Server licenses. Client licenses (CAL) allow users or devices to connect to Windows Server and are purchased according to their number.
What to watch out for
- Windows 11 requires a processor from a supported list, TPM 2.0, and Secure Boot – check your computer before purchase.
- The OEM license usually remains tied to the computer on which it is activated.
- The 64-bit version is the standard today and uses all the memory of the computer.
- Keep the key and purchase document in a safe place.
- Before upgrading an old system, make a backup of important files.
- When installing Windows 11 Home by default, internet and a Microsoft account are required – prepare them in advance.
Installation and compatibility
The retail version is installed from the included USB medium, while for OEM and electronic licenses, the installation is downloaded from the official Microsoft website and activated with the key. Most modern computers meet the requirements of Windows 11, while older ones may require a BIOS update or part replacement. If you are building a new computer, choose the system in the configurator, and for office programs, check office applications and antivirus protection.
