Description
ASUS Server K14PA-U12/ASMB11 is a server motherboard with Socket SP5, aimed at serious EPYC configurations – from virtualization and databases to heavy compute and storage servers. The CEB form factor makes it suitable for rack and tower chassis with a server orientation, and support for AMD EPYC™ Genoa up to 400W allows you to use the highest class CPU in this socket. Add to that the two SFP28 25Gb/s ports and rich MCIO capabilities, and you have a foundation for serious infrastructure without relying on separate HBA/NIC cards in every situation.
What you get
With 1 x Socket SP5 (LGA 6096) and support for EPYC Genoa up to 400W, you can install a CPU with many cores and high TDP, which is key for virtualization servers, heavy database loads, and container environments. The memory is DDR5, with 12 DIMM slots, up to 3072 GB and a frequency of 4800 MHz, organized in 4-channel architecture, providing you with huge capacity and serious memory bandwidth. For storage, you get a combination of 16 x SATA plus M.2 slot PCIe Gen5x4 and a total of 8 MCIO connectors, which can handle a large number of NVMe and SATA devices without a separate RAID/HBA controller in the base variant. The two built-in SFP28 25Gb/s LAN ports (Broadcom BCM57414) allow you to build a fast network infrastructure for storage (iSCSI, NFS) or backend traffic between servers, while the separate Mgmt LAN port gives you out-of-band management. The power supply is standard for server platforms – 1 x 24-pin + 2 x 8-pin, suitable for high TDP CPUs and many devices.
- Support for AMD EPYC™ Genoa processors in Socket SP5 (LGA 6096), providing you access to the latest EPYC generation with up to 400W TDP for heavy loads.
- A total of 12 DDR5 DIMM slots with a maximum capacity of 3072 GB and a frequency of up to 4800 MHz, suitable for large databases, virtual environments, and in-memory applications.
- 4-channel architecture of the memory, which improves bandwidth and reduces bottlenecks in CPU-intensive and memory-bound tasks.
- Built-in dual-port 25Gb/s SFP28 LAN (Broadcom BCM57414B1KFSBG) plus Mgmt LAN, so you can rely on high-speed networking and separate management without additional NIC cards.
- 16 x SATA ports and support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, allowing you to build flexible and reliable storage with multiple HDD/SSD drives.
- 1 x M.2 (PCIe Gen5x4, 2280) with support for SATA mode as well, suitable for a fast system disk or cache device in server configurations.
- 6 x MCIO connectors (PCIe Gen5x8) for up to 12 NVMe and 2 x MCIO connectors for up to 16 SATA or 4 NVMe, giving you massive flexibility for NVMe and SATA storage in a compact form factor.
- Rich rear and on-board I/O: 2 x USB 3.2 Gen1 on the rear panel, VGA port, headers for additional USB, 6 x 4-pin FAN, TPM, and chassis intruder for better control and security.
- Standard power connectors 1 x 24-pin + 2 x 8-pin, making it easy to choose a compatible PSU for a high-end server build.
Who it is suitable for
This motherboard is for serious server/enterprise environments – virtualization, container platforms, heavy database, storage servers, and high-bandwidth backend solutions. It is also suitable for homogeneous EPYC clusters, where you need a lot of RAM, a lot of NVMe, and 25Gb networking without overcrowding the PCIe slots with additional cards. It is not suitable for standard desktop or gaming builds – here we are talking about a platform that makes sense if you will take advantage of EPYC, DDR5 ECC, and the massive storage/network potential.
The strongest point of the ASUS Server K14PA-U12/ASMB11 is the combination of EPYC SP5 support, huge DDR5 capacity, and serious options for NVMe/SATA and 25Gb networking right from the board. If you are looking for a stable server foundation for long-term operation, this model offers many possibilities in one platform.
