Description
Gigabyte B760 DS3H is an ATX motherboard for LGA1700, aimed at a stable mid-range build with a focus on 13th and 12th Gen Intel processors and DDR4 memory. It combines the current Intel B760 chipset with support for high-speed memory up to 5333 MHz (OC) and a reasonable set of M.2 and PCIe slots. You get Realtek 2.5GbE LAN for faster networking than standard gigabit, plus modern USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and Type-C ports on the rear panel. It is suitable if you want a current platform with DDR4 without overloading your budget.
What you get
With LGA1700 socket and Intel B760 chipset, you can install 13th and 12th generation Intel Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron, giving you flexibility from budget to serious gaming or workhorse CPU. The four DDR4 slots with a maximum of 128 GB and frequencies up to 5333 MHz (OC) allow for smooth upgrades – you start with 16/32 GB, and later you can easily switch to more RAM. The two M.2 slots (both PCIe 4.0 x4/x2) provide fast NVMe SSDs for the system and games/projects, while the four SATA3 ports cover HDDs and older SSDs. The Realtek 2.5GbE LAN chip provides lower latency and higher bandwidth for online gaming and large transfers on the local network. On top of that, you have a rich set of USB, including USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C on the back for fast external SSDs and modern peripherals.
- Socket LGA 1700 with Intel B760 chipset – a current platform for 13th and 12th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron, suitable for gaming and productivity.
- 4 x DDR4 slots supporting up to 128 GB and frequencies up to 5333 MHz (OC) – enough for heavy multitasking, video processing, and modern games.
- Support for dual-channel DDR4 memory – higher real bandwidth compared to single-channel configuration.
- 2 x M.2 (PCIe 4.0 x4/x2) connectors for NVMe SSD – fast loading of Windows, games, and applications, plus an option for a separate disk just for projects.
- 4 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s with RAID 0/1/5/10 – flexibility for a combination of large HDDs for storage and SATA SSDs, with the option for security or higher speed through RAID.
- Built-in Realtek 2.5GbE LAN (2.5 Gbit/1 Gbit/100 Mbit) – faster network connection and better response for online gaming and NAS work compared to standard 1 Gbit LAN.
- Realtek High Definition Audio with 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel support – suitable for multi-channel systems and a more complete audio experience.
- 1 x PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for GPU + 4 x PCIe 3.0 x1 – space for a main video card and additional expansion cards (audio, capture, network).
- USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C on the rear panel + internal USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C header – ready for new cases and fast external devices.
- A rich set of USB: USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and multiple USB 2.0 – enough ports for peripherals, controllers, and accessories.
Who it is suitable for
This motherboard is a good choice for a mid-range to upper mid-range gaming build on Intel with DDR4 – if you want a solid foundation for an RTX/Radeon card, fast NVMe storage, and plenty of RAM without paying for extras you won’t use. It is also suitable for a home workstation with lots of peripherals and fast networking. If you need built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth or extreme overclocking, you won’t find them here, and it’s best to look at a higher-class model.
The combination of the current B760 chipset, two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, 2.5GbE LAN, and up to 128 GB DDR4 makes the Gigabyte B760 DS3H a very sensible foundation for a modern and future-proof Intel build on a reasonable budget.
