SSD disk Transcend 120GB, 2.5" SSD 220S, SATA3 - TS120GSSD220S

Transcend 220S 120GB is a basic 2.5" SATA SSD, ideal for reviving an older desktop or laptop that still runs on a classic HDD. With a capacity of 120GB and speeds up to 520MB/s read and 420MB/s write, you get significantly faster loading of the operating system and applications compared to a mechanical drive. The 2.5" form factor and SATA 3 (6Gb/s) interface make it compatible with the vast majority of systems on the market. Light, silver, and without RGB – just a practical SSD for people who want speed without unnecessary effects.

What you get

These 520MB/s read speeds mean significantly faster Windows startup, browser opening, office programs, and light games compared to any standard HDD. With 420MB/s write, files are copied noticeably faster, and the system is more responsive during installations and updates. The 120GB capacity is sufficient for an operating system plus your most important applications and a few smaller games – a good choice if you keep your media archives on a separate larger drive. V-NAND memory provides better density and reliability compared to older planar NAND solutions. Weighing only 45 g and with standard dimensions of 100.0 x 69.9 x 6.8 mm, installation is easy in both desktop cases and most laptops with a 2.5" bay.

Who it is suitable for

This SSD is a logical choice if you want a budget upgrade from HDD to a faster system drive for an office machine, home PC, or older laptop. It is also suitable as a second drive solely for the operating system in a gaming or work computer, where data is kept on a larger HDD or another SSD. If you are looking for space for a large library of AAA games or bulky projects, 120GB will feel tight, and a larger capacity would be more reasonable.

The most sensible aspect here is the combination of decent SATA speed, V-NAND memory, and a 36-month warranty in a compact 2.5" format – exactly what you need to give a second life to an old system with a minimal budget.
