SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL Quiet Switch gaming keyboard

SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL is a compact gaming keyboard that focuses on a quieter and more comfortable switch type without sacrificing speed. The TKL format saves space on your desk and leaves more room for the mouse, while the wired USB connection and 1000 Hz polling rate provide a stable and fast response. You get ARGB lighting, high-profile keys, and the signature SteelSeries Whisper-Quiet Switches, which reduce noise during typing and gaming. The keyboard is aimed at PC gamers who want quieter peripherals but value the responsiveness of opto-mechanical switches.

What you get

The foundation here is the opto-mechanical switches with SteelSeries Whisper-Quiet Switches technology – the feel is more precise than classic membrane keyboards, and the sound is significantly more muted compared to typical clicky mechanicals. With a 1000 Hz polling rate, the keyboard communicates with the PC up to 1000 times per second, which minimizes input latency and is crucial for dynamic games. The TKL design removes the numpad to bring the mouse closer to the keyboard and reduce shoulder strain during longer sessions. The ARGB lighting allows you to customize the look according to the game or setup, rather than just having static monochrome light. The built-in multimedia functions add convenience for controlling sound and media directly from the keyboard, without additional buttons or software workarounds.

• Opto-mechanical keyboard type with SteelSeries Whisper-Quiet Switches for more accurate response and significantly lower noise during gaming and typing.
• Compact TKL size (without numpad) with dimensions of 364 x 150 x 40 mm, which frees up space for the mouse and is convenient for smaller desks.
• Wired USB connection and 1000 Hz polling rate ensure a stable connection and low latency for competitive titles.
• ARGB lighting allows for customization of the light according to games, profiles, or the overall look of your gaming configuration.
• High-profile keys for a clearer feel when pressed, suitable for gamers who prefer a distinct key travel.
• Built-in multimedia functions facilitate sound and media control during gaming, without leaving full-screen.
• Relatively lightweight body weighing 639 g, which is easy to move but stable enough not to shift during intense typing.

Who it is suitable for

Apex 3 TKL is a good option if you regularly play on PC but do not want a noisy mechanical keyboard to dominate the room or office. The compact TKL format is convenient for FPS, MOBA, and battle royale, where the mouse needs space. If you type mainly in Cyrillic and care about key legends, the lack of Cyrillic labeling here may be a drawback and is worth keeping in mind.

The combination of quiet opto-mechanical switches, 1000 Hz polling, and TKL form makes the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL a balanced choice for a gamer who wants a fast and compact keyboard without excessive noise and without unnecessary extras like macro buttons.
