WD Gold Enterprise hard drive, 14TB, 512MB Cache, SATA3, WD142KRYZ

WD Gold Enterprise 14TB is a 3.5" hard drive, aimed at serious desktop and server machines, where capacity and reliability are more important than anything else. You get massive 14TB for data, backups, virtual machines, or large storage arrays. It operates at 7200 rpm and uses a standard SATA3 6 Gb/s interface, so it fits seamlessly into any modern system with a 3.5" slot. The large 512MB cache helps with sequential and mixed workloads, typical for backup, file servers, and heavy storage scenarios.

What you get
In practice, this drive gives you a huge volume in a single bay, which is key if you are building a NAS, server, or workstation with a lot of data – fewer drives, fewer cables, lower risk. 14TB is sufficient for massive photo/video archives, large game libraries, or long-term storage for video surveillance and backup. 7200 rpm means faster access and better transfer rates compared to slower 5400 rpm solutions, which is noticeable when copying large volumes and working with multiple large files. The 512MB cache smooths out load peaks and helps the drive maintain more stable speeds during a series of requests. And the 5-year warranty indicates that it is designed for a long, more serious lifecycle, especially in server and 24/7 environments.

• Large capacity of 14TB, which is suitable for archives, backup, NAS, and server configurations with a lot of data.
• Standard 3.5" form factor, so it fits directly into most desktop cases, server chassis, and NAS devices.
• Rotational speed of 7200 rpm for faster data access and higher transfer rates compared to slower mechanical drives.
• SATA3 6 Gb/s interface, which ensures maximum compatibility with modern motherboards and controllers.
• Large 512MB cache, which improves performance during sequential reading and writing and helps with heavier storage loads.
• Classified as a Desktop / Server drive, making it suitable for 24/7 systems, file and backup servers.
• Long 60-month warranty, providing peace of mind for critical data and professional configurations.

Who it is suitable for
This WD Gold Enterprise is a logical choice if you are building a server, NAS, workstation, or desktop for serious data storage, where volume and reliability are priorities. It is suitable for backup solutions, media servers, photo/video archives, and video surveillance systems. It is not the best choice for a system drive on a gaming machine if you are looking for maximum responsiveness – an SSD makes more sense there, while this drive is perfect as a massive secondary storage.

The combination of 14TB capacity, 7200 rpm, 512MB cache, and a 5-year warranty makes the WD Gold Enterprise a very stable foundation for reliable and long-term storage. If you want to gather a lot of data in a small number of devices and rely on them for years, this drive fits exactly into that role.
