ASUS ROG Strix 5K XG27JCG Monitor - 27" inch Fast IPS, 5K(5120x2880) 180Hz, 0.3ms Dual Mode QHD(330Hz), G-Sync Compatible

The ASUS ROG Strix XG27JCG is a 27" gaming monitor aimed at more demanding players who want smooth gameplay and good picture quality in 1440p. The combination of an IPS panel and 2560 x 1440 resolution provides a more detailed and clean image compared to standard Full HD. The high refresh rate of 180 Hz and 1 ms response time help keep motion blur under control and allow for more precise reactions in dynamic shooters. Add G-SYNC Compatible support and you get smoother frames without annoying tearing with a suitable GPU.

What you get is a combination of a fast panel and a good balance between resolution and performance. 1440p on 27" is the "sweet spot" – the picture is noticeably sharper than 1080p, without killing FPS like higher resolutions do. 180 Hz gives you the ability to see more frames per second, which is especially useful in competitive games where every millisecond counts. The IPS panel with 178°/178° viewing angles saves you from color fading when you are not sitting exactly in the middle or when playing with someone else in front of the screen. Thanks to 10-bit (1073.7M) colors, you have finer gradations and less "banding" in dark scenes or when processing content. All of this comes with moderate power consumption of 40 W, so your electricity bill won't hurt during long gaming sessions.

• 27" diagonal provides a sufficiently large field of view for gaming and work, without necessarily requiring a huge distance to the monitor.
• Resolution 2560 x 1440 provides sharper textures and finer details compared to 1080p, which is an ideal balance between detail and required GPU resources.
• Refresh rate 180 Hz ensures significantly smoother image movement and less blurring during fast pans and flicks.
• Response time 1 ms reduces residual trails (ghosting), which is important in dynamic FPS, racing, and action titles.
• IPS panel with 1500:1 contrast offers a good balance between color accuracy, black depth, and stable colors at various angles.
• Brightness 350 cd/m² is sufficient for a typical room or office and gives you comfortable visibility without struggling with reflections.
• G-SYNC Compatible reduces tearing and stuttering when the GPU frames do not match the monitor's refresh rate.
• 10-bit, 1073.7M colors are a plus if, in addition to gaming, you work with photos, video, or simply want smoother color transitions.
• VESA 100 x 100 mm allows for easy mounting on a stand or wall for a cleaner desk and a more ergonomic position.
• Power consumption 40 W is reasonable for a 27" 1440p 180 Hz monitor and allows for long sessions without excessive power consumption.

This monitor is suitable if you primarily play competitive and AAA titles in 1440p and want a high refresh rate without moving to larger and more GPU-intensive resolutions. It is also a good choice if you combine gaming with work – text, browsing, and some photo or video processing benefit from the resolution and IPS panel. If your main goal is only watching movies from a distance or casual use, you may not feel the full benefit of 180 Hz.

The most meaningful thing here is the combination of 1440p, 180 Hz, 1 ms, and IPS, which covers both serious gaming and daily work on a single 27" panel. This is a monitor that you can confidently place at the center of a gaming configuration and know that the panel will not be a bottleneck for what you are doing.
