Monitor Samsung Odyssey G5 C34G55TWWP 34 inch, VA Curved UWQHD 3440x1440, 165Hz, 1 ms

The Samsung Odyssey G5 C34G55TWWP is a 34" curved gaming monitor, aimed at the mid-range segment, where you seek a balance between price, size, and speed. The 1000R curvature and the 21:9 format immerse you more in games, especially in shooters and racers, where peripheral vision matters. The resolution 3440 x 1440 provides a much wider workspace compared to a standard 16:9, without sacrificing detail. With a 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time, the image is smooth and adequate for more serious competitive play.

What you get: A VA panel with 2500:1 static contrast, which means deeper blacks and more saturated dark scenes compared to a typical IPS — useful for games and movies in a dark environment. The 21:9 format combined with 3440 x 1440 is very convenient for work as well: you can easily keep two windows side by side without feeling cramped. 165 Hz and AMD FreeSync Premium help you avoid tearing and stutter if you keep the frames stable. With a 1 ms response time, blurring in dynamic scenes is minimized, which is felt most in FPS and fast action games. With a 1000R curve, the screen follows the shape of your field of view and reduces the need to turn your head at the edges.

• 34" curved VA panel provides a large, immersive field of view, with better contrast for movies and games.
• 1000R curve makes the image more natural for the eye and keeps the entire screen at a more uniform focal distance.
• UWQHD resolution 3440 x 1440 ensures high detail and a wide 21:9 canvas, suitable for both gaming and productivity.
• Refresh rate 165 Hz allows for much smoother motion compared to 60/75 Hz, especially noticeable in fast games.
• Response time 1 ms reduces motion blur and ghosting, so targets and textures remain clear during sharp movements.
• Static contrast 2500:1 helps with better separation of shadows and light details in dark scenes.
• AMD FreeSync Premium synchronizes the GPU and the monitor to limit screen tearing with highly variable FPS.
• Viewing angles 178°/178° provide stable colors and contrast, even when you are not looking directly at the center.
• Interfaces HDMI, DisplayPort and 3.5 mm jack give you flexibility for connecting a PC, console, and headphones.
• Brightness 250 cd/m² is adequate for a typical home or office environment without strong direct sunlight.

The monitor is suitable for gamers who want to switch to an ultrawide 21:9 format with a high refresh rate, without entering the extremely expensive class. It is also great for working with multiple windows, code, timelines, and tables, where width is more important than maximum brightness. It is not the best choice if you are looking for a monitor for a very bright room or strictly color-critical work, where higher brightness and specific calibrations are usually pursued.

The combination of 34" UWQHD, 1000R curve, and 165 Hz makes this Odyssey G5 a very sensible upgrade from a standard 16:9 monitor and a serious upgrade in the feeling of space and smoothness.
