BenQ SW242Q Monitor for photo and video editing, 24.1", IPS, 2K, HDR10

The BenQ SW242Q is a 24.1" IPS monitor aimed at photo and video processing, where color and detail are more important than a high refresh rate. It operates at a 2560 x 1600 resolution, giving you more vertical space than standard 1440p and a much finer image compared to 1080p. With 1.07 billion colors and wide viewing angles of 178°/178°, you can rely on a stable and predictable image, without colors "floating" when you move slightly. Add to this an IPS panel and you will feel that the display is oriented towards work, rather than pure content consumption.

What you get is a monitor that serves you well both in Lightroom and Premiere, as well as in everyday tasks. The 2560 x 1600 resolution on a 24.1" screen provides a high pixel density – photos look cleaner, and fine details during retouching are easier to catch without constantly zooming in. The 1000cd/m² brightness gives you enough "headroom" to work comfortably even in brighter rooms and to clearly see differences in brighter tones. The 5 ms response time is fully sufficient for photo/video work and normal viewing of movies and clips, without worrying about noticeable blurring. Through DisplayPort, USB Type-C, and HDMI, you can connect a laptop, desktop computer, and an additional device simultaneously and switch between them according to the task.

• The 24.1" diagonal offers a balanced size for close-up work, without taking up your entire desk setup and without the need to turn your head across the screen.
• An IPS panel with viewing angles of 178°/178° guarantees stable colors and contrast, which is important when evaluating tones and gradients in photos and videos.
• The 2560 x 1600 resolution provides more vertical workspace than standard 1440p, which is useful for timelines, panels, and additional tools.
• 1.07 billion colors provide a finer step between nuances compared to a standard 8-bit display, which helps against banding in gradients.
• Brightness of 1000cd/m² allows for comfortable work in bright rooms and better distinction of details in the brighter parts of the image.
• A 60 Hz refresh rate is fully sufficient for productivity, photo, and video, while maintaining stable and predictable motion of the image.
• VESA 100 x 100 mm gives you the freedom to mount it on a monitor stand or arm and arrange your workspace as you see fit.
• DisplayPort, USB Type-C, and HDMI interfaces provide flexibility for connecting to modern laptops and desktop machines, without the need for extra adapters.
• A 5 ms response time is a good compromise between image quality and a fast enough response for normal video and light gaming.
• A 36-month warranty gives you peace of mind for long-term use in a professional or semi-professional environment.

This monitor is suitable if you are mainly involved in photo and video processing, graphic design, color work, or if you want a serious display for productivity with more vertical space. It is also suitable for lighter games and multimedia, but if you are after a high refresh rate for competitive gaming, 60 Hz will not be sufficient for you. The combination of resolution, brightness, and color capabilities makes it particularly adequate for creators and people who spend hours in front of the screen working, not just for entertainment.

The most meaningful thing here is how BenQ combines 2560 x 1600 resolution, an IPS panel with 1.07 billion colors, and 1000cd/m² brightness in a 24.1" format, oriented towards precise work. If you need a stable, color-reliable monitor for serious tasks, this model delivers exactly that without unnecessary noise.
