Description
BenQ RD280U is a 28.2" monitor aimed at programming, but also labeled as gaming, so you can comfortably use it for mixed work – coding, browsing, light gaming. The 4:3 format provides more vertical space, which is convenient for IDEs, consoles, and documentation on one screen. The IPS panel with 178°/178° viewing angles and 16.7 million colors ensures an even picture without window fading at the edges. The brightness of 400 cd/m² is more than sufficient for a well-lit office or home desk.
What you get: a stable IPS panel with a 60 Hz refresh rate and 5 ms response time, which is perfectly fine for programming, multimedia, and more relaxed gaming. The static contrast of 1200:1 helps the text appear sharp, with better separation between light and dark elements in dark IDE themes. The 4:3 format means more lines of code on the screen, less scrolling, and more convenient arrangement of vertically split windows. With DisplayPort and HDMI interfaces, you can easily connect it to a desktop PC, laptop, or docking station without unnecessary adapters. The VESA mount of 100 x 100 mm gives you the freedom to place it on an arm or wall mount if you want a cleaner desk and a more ergonomic position.
- IPS panel with 178°/178° viewing angles, so the picture remains clear and colors do not wash out, even if you are not perfectly centered in front of the monitor.
- 4:3 format, which provides more vertical space – convenient for long code files, logs, and documentation.
- Brightness of 400 cd/m², sufficient for working in bright daylight without straining your eyes.
- Static contrast of 1200:1, which gives clearer text and better differentiation between light and dark areas in the interface.
- Response time of 5 ms, suitable for everyday work, movies, and more relaxed games without annoying blurring.
- Refresh rate of 60 Hz, a standard choice for productivity and programming, without unnecessary strain on the GPU.
- DisplayPort and HDMI interfaces, giving you the flexibility to connect various sources – from desktop computers to laptops and consoles.
- VESA compatibility of 100 x 100 mm, to mount it on a stand or arm according to your setup.
It is suitable if your main focus is programming, office work, and browsing, with occasional gaming at standard 60 Hz. It is not the best choice if you are aiming for maximum smooth competitive gaming with high refresh rate and minimal latency, but for a dev environment, multitasking, and multimedia, it is perfectly adequate.
The combination of IPS panel, 4:3 format, and good brightness makes the BenQ RD280U a practical monitor for people who spend many hours coding and reading text and want a clean, readable picture without unnecessary "extras" for show.
