Thermalright Royal Pretor 130 Ultra Black CPU Cooler
Description
Thermalright Royal Pretor 130 Ultra Black is a dual-fan air CPU cooler aimed at mid-range to more serious gaming and heavy workload configurations. With two 120 mm fans and 4-pin control, you can count on stable cooling and good RPM control according to the load. The wide socket support – from older LGA 115x and AM4 to current LGA 1700, AM5, and even LGA 1851 – makes it a flexible choice for both upgrades and new builds. The black design with a 5V ARGB connector is a bonus if you are aiming for a clean and finished look in your case.
What you get
You get a serious air cooler with two 120 x 120 x 25 mm fans, which at up to 1750 RPM can push a solid airflow through the radiator. The 4-pin connector allows PWM control from the motherboard, so the system can be quiet at idle and more aggressive under load. Additionally, the 5V ARGB connector allows you to synchronize RGB effects with other components through the motherboard. Thanks to the support for so many Intel and AMD sockets, this cooler can easily survive several generations of CPUs without needing to be replaced with each platform.
- The cooler is air type, which means simple maintenance, reliability, and no risk of leaks like with AIO solutions.
- It is compatible with a wide range of sockets – from LGA 1150/1151/1155/1156, LGA 1200, LGA 2011/2011-v3, LGA 2066, LGA 1700, LGA 1851 to AM4 and AM5, so you can easily transfer it between different platforms.
- The two 120 x 120 x 25 mm fans provide better coverage of the radiator and more efficient heat dissipation compared to a single fan.
- With a maximum speed of 1750 RPM, the fans can ramp up under serious CPU load and keep temperatures under control.
- The fans use a 4-pin PWM connector, allowing fine control of the RPM curves through BIOS or software.
- With a 5V ARGB connector, you can synchronize the lighting with the entire ARGB ecosystem of the motherboard for a unified look.
- Static pressure is available up to 2.87 mm H2O, which helps air to effectively pass through the denser fins of the radiator.
Who it is suitable for
This cooler is a nice choice if you are building a gaming or work mid-range/upper-mid build and want something more serious than boxed cooling, but without switching to water cooling. It is also suitable if you frequently change platforms and are looking for a cooler that does not limit you to one socket. If you plan extreme overclocking on the heaviest top CPUs, you might want to look at more massive solutions, but for most real scenarios, this model will be completely sufficient.
The combination of a dual 120 mm setup, decent static pressure, and wide socket compatibility makes Thermalright Royal Pretor 130 Ultra Black a very sensible choice if you are looking for a balance between effective cooling, flexibility, and ARGB aesthetics.
