16 cores for work and X3D cache for gaming
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D combines two things that are usually found in different processors: 16 cores and 32 threads for heavy workloads and 3D V-Cache for gaming. The architecture is Zen 5, the frequency reaches up to 5.7 GHz, and the third-level cache is 128 MB.
The processor is built from two blocks of 8 cores each. The additional cache is on one of them, and the AMD chipset driver sends games to the cores with the cache. Therefore, in games, it performs like the 9800X3D, while for rendering, compiling, and video editing, it utilizes all 16 cores.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 has additional cache on both blocks (192 MB) — it is slightly faster, but also more expensive, with higher power consumption. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D has 12 cores and is cheaper if you do not need all 16.
