The first processor with 3D V-Cache on both core complexes

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition was released in April 2026 and is AMD's most powerful desktop X3D processor. It features 16 cores and 32 threads with Zen 5 architecture, a frequency of up to 5.6 GHz, and 192 MB of third-level cache. Unlike the 9950X3D, here the additional cache is present on both 8-core complexes.

Thus, all 16 cores have equally large cache, and the system does not need to choose which ones to send the game to. Programs that benefit from large cache also gain — simulations, code compilation, some engineering and scientific applications.

9950X3D2 or 9950X3D?

Ryzen 9 9950X3D has the additional cache only on one complex (128 MB total). According to AMD data, the 9950X3D2 is on average 5–10% faster, but it is also more expensive and has higher power consumption. If you do not have a specific program that benefits from the cache, the 9950X3D is the more reasonable choice.
