Description
This Cudy GS1016E is a 16-port managed Gigabit PoE+ switch, oriented towards small and medium offices, IP surveillance, and PoE infrastructure. You have 16 PoE+ RJ45 ports and 2 Gigabit SFP slots for optics or uplink to the main switch. It operates at 10/100/1000 Mbps and supports key L2 protocols for VLAN, QoS, and spanning tree. The built-in AC power supply with total PoE budget of 185 W allows you to power directly many IP cameras, phones, or access points without external adapters.
What you get
With PoE+ 16 x RJ45 802.3af/at ports (up to 30W per port) you can power IR cameras, VoIP phones, and Wi-Fi points, without thinking about splitters and contacts on ceilings and walls. The total PoE budget of 185 W means that, for example, 8–12 cameras or APs with average consumption can run stably on a single switch, instead of distributing them across several devices. The two Gigabit SFP slots give you the option to connect the floor/object with optics to the core switch or to make long links between buildings. Management via web interface, SNMP v1/v2, and Cudy App / Cloud Control gives you flexibility – you can configure locally or via the cloud, monitor status, perform firmware upgrades, and backup the configuration. PoE Watchdog and diagnostics (Cable Status/Length, Ping) help you solve problems remotely – if a camera port gets stuck, it restarts automatically without you having to go on-site.
- 16 x Gigabit PoE+ ports with 802.3af/at Mode A allow you to power IP cameras, phones, and access points directly over the network cable.
- Total PoE budget of 185 W provides sufficient power for several PoE devices with higher consumption or a whole set of more economical endpoints.
- 2 x Gigabit SFP slots provide the possibility for optical uplinks or long links between switches according to the selected SFP modules.
- Transfer speed 10/100/1000 Mbps and support for IEEE 802.3i/u/ab/z ensure compatibility with legacy devices and full gigabit connectivity.
- VLAN support (IEEE 802.1q) and QoS (IEEE 802.1p) allow you to logically divide the network (for example, cameras / office / guests) and prioritize important traffic.
- STP/RSTP (IEEE 802.1d/802.1w) and Loop Prevention protect the network from loops and broadcast storms, which is critical in more complex topologies.
- DHCP Snooping and IGMP Snooping improve security and control of multicast traffic – useful for IP TV and surveillance.
- PoE Watchdog automatically restarts PoE ports in the absence of traffic, which practically plays the role of a hardware "reset" for stuck devices.
- Jumbo Frame support up to 15 KB increases efficiency when transferring larger packets in the local network, especially for backup and NAS traffic.
- 4 Mbit packet buffer and table up to 8192 MAC addresses help for smoother traffic processing in loaded environments with many devices.
- Built-in AC power supply (100–240V~, 50/60Hz, 200 W) and metal chassis 440 x 220 x 44 mm are convenient for mounting in a cabinet and stable 24/7 operation.
- Cable support up to 100 m (Cat.5/5e) and up to 250 m at 10 Mbps gives flexibility when cabling large offices or warehouses.
Who it is suitable for
GS1016E is suitable for small and medium offices, IP surveillance, hotels, establishments, and any objects where you want to deliver both network and power over a single cable. A good choice is also for a budget edge switch with PoE in larger installations, where the core is a separate device. If you need only a basic unmanaged switch for home internet without PoE devices, this will be more of an overkill.
The combination of 16 PoE+ ports, 2 SFP slots, manageable L2 functions, and a decent PoE budget of 185 W makes Cudy GS1016E a practical tool for real installations, not just another "bare" gigabit switch.
