SYNOLOGY HAT5320 NAS 4 TB is a 3.5" hard drive, aimed at stable NAS configurations for home or small office use. It combines 4TB capacity with 7200 rpm speed and a SATA3 6 Gb/s interface, making it suitable for continuous operation and constant data traffic. The large 512 MB cache helps with smoother access to frequently used files and more stable performance under multiple simultaneous requests. This is a NAS disk solution focused on reliability and predictable behavior under 24/7 load, rather than "on paper" records.

What you get

With 4TB, you have enough space for several dozen terabytes of photos, backups, a media collection, or shared files for a small team, especially if you combine it in a RAID array with additional drives. The 7200 rpm speed provides faster access compared to typical 5400 rpm NAS drives, which is noticeable when working with large files and multiple simultaneous users. The SATA3 6 Gb/s interface provides sufficient bandwidth for a mechanical drive of this class, so you won't be limited by the connection to the NAS. The 512 MB cache buffers operations during many small I/O requests, which helps maintain more stable speeds during streaming, backup, and synchronization. The dimensions of 147 x 101.85 x 26.10 mm are standard for 3.5", so it will fit without surprises in most NAS enclosures and standard PC cases.

The drive has a 3.5" form factor, so it is optimized for NAS enclosures and desktop chassis with standard drive bays.
The 7200 rpm speed provides faster data access and better response when working with larger files and multiple clients.
The SATA3 6 Gb/s interface ensures wide compatibility with most NAS devices and motherboards, as well as sufficient bandwidth for this class of drive.
The 4TB capacity is a good balance for a personal NAS, small office, media server, or backup solutions.
The large 512 MB cache helps achieve smoother speeds with multiple small requests, typical for shared folders, backup, and cloud sync.
The physical dimensions of 147 x 101.85 x 26.10 mm follow the standard for 3.5" drives, which facilitates installation in various cases and racks.
The 36-month warranty provides peace of mind for long-term 24/7 use in a NAS environment.

Who it is suitable for

This drive is a logical choice if you are building a home NAS for backup, a media server, or a shared workspace for a small team. It is also suitable for small offices where there is a need for constantly accessible files and higher speed compared to typical 5400 rpm solutions. If you are looking for a device for an OS or for very heavy random loads, an SSD would be more suitable, while this drive should remain as bulk storage behind a NAS or file server.

The combination of 4TB, 7200 rpm, and 512 MB cache makes it a stable foundation for a serious home or small office NAS, capable of handling both backups and daily file work without unnecessary compromises.
