Orico 7688U3-BK Storage Case 3.5" Vertical USB 3.0 Power adapter Black

The Orico 7688U3-BK is an external vertical enclosure for 3.5" drives, which turns an ordinary internal HDD or SSD into a convenient external storage. It is suitable for a budget and practical setup – archives, backup, media library for a TV or router. The connection to the computer is made via USB 3.0, and to the drive – via SATA3, which gives you stable transfer for large files. The enclosure comes in black and relies on external power, to avoid issues with power shortage for 3.5" drives.

What you get

At its core, this is an external enclosure for 3.5" HDD, but according to the specifications, it also supports 3.5" HDD / SSD, which gives you flexibility according to your needs – large capacity with HDD or faster access with SSD. The internal SATA3 connection plus USB 3.0 on the outside and UASP Protocol support help make better use of speeds with more modern drives and operating systems. The package includes a 12V2A power adapter, which guarantees stable power for 3.5" drives, as well as a 1M USB3.0 cable for direct connection to a desktop, laptop, or even some TVs and routers. The vertical form saves space on the desk and makes the enclosure easier to position around other devices.

• The enclosure is of type external enclosure 3.5", which is convenient if you want to repurpose old internal drives as external storage.
• Support for 3.5" HDD / SSD gives you the option to choose between large capacity (HDD) or faster data access (SSD), without changing the enclosure itself.
• The internal interface SATA3 is standard for modern drives and ensures a reliable connection between the drive and the controller in the enclosure.
• The USB 3.0 interface on the outside is a good balance between speed and compatibility, as it also works with older USB ports (at a lower speed).
• Support for UASP Protocol allows for more efficient data transfer on compatible systems, which is noticeable when copying multiple small files and results in lower CPU load.
• The included 12V2A power adapter provides sufficient power for standard 3.5" HDDs, without relying on USB power.
• The package includes a 1M USB3.0 cable, long enough for convenient connection to a desktop computer under the desk or a laptop on the desk.
• The color black is neutral and easily fits into most setups, without drawing excessive attention.
• You get a 24-month warranty, which provides peace of mind if the enclosure works almost non-stop for backup or media content.

Who it is suitable for

This enclosure is suitable if you have a spare 3.5" drive from an old computer or want a cheap external solution for backup, movies, photos, or working with large files. It is also a good option for a home media archive connected to a smart TV or a router with USB. If you are looking for an ultra-compact solution to carry in a backpack, a 2.5" enclosure would be more convenient, but here you gain stable power and capacity.

The combination of SATA3, USB 3.0, UASP support, and external 12V power makes the Orico 7688U3-BK a practical choice when you want to get the most out of a standard 3.5" drive without unnecessary complications.
