Description
Asrock B760M-H2/M.2 is a compact Micro ATX motherboard for LGA1700, aimed at budget and mid-range Intel builds with DDR5. It is based on the Intel B760 chipset and supports 12th, 13th, 14th and next gen Intel Core processors, giving you a good upgrade path. You get a DDR5 platform with up to 96 GB RAM and high frequencies up to 7200+ MHz (OC), plus two PCIe Gen4x4 M.2 slots for fast NVMe SSDs. Add in 2.5G LAN and 7.1 audio and you have a solid foundation for a modern gaming or work machine.
What you get
With two DDR5 slots, you can increase to 96 GB RAM in dual-channel mode, which is more than enough for gaming, streaming, and serious productivity. The two Hyper M.2 PCIe Gen4x4 slots allow you to install NVMe SSDs with up to 64 Gb/s each – your system and games will load noticeably faster than classic SATA SSDs. There are also 4 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s ports with RAID 0/1/5/10, if you want a combination of fast NVMe for OS + large SATA drives for storage. The built-in Dragon RTL8125BG 2.5 Gigabit LAN card is a huge plus for online gaming and low ping compared to standard 1G LAN. On the back, you have a decent number of USB ports and two HDMI, so you can easily connect multiple monitors, even if you temporarily rely on integrated video from the processor.
- Works with socket LGA 1700 and chipset Intel B760, which means support for 12th, 13th, 14th and next gen Intel Core processors for long platform life.
- Supports DDR5 memory in 2 slots, with dual-channel mode and capacity up to 96 GB at frequencies up to 7200+ MHz (OC) for high bandwidth.
- Two Hyper M.2 PCIe Gen4x4 slots (2260/2280) provide up to 64 Gb/s per device for NVMe SSDs with very fast boot and load times for applications and games.
- Four SATA3 6.0 Gb/s ports with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 allow flexible storage configuration between speed and reliability.
- The main graphics card slot is PCIe 4.0 x16, which is sufficient for modern GPUs without bottlenecking mid-range configurations.
- The built-in network card Dragon RTL8125BG 2.5G LAN (10/100/1000/2500 Mb/s) provides higher network bandwidth and better responsiveness for online gaming.
- The audio is based on Realtek ALC897 with 7.1-Channel High Definition Audio, sufficient for gaming, movies, and voice chat without a separate sound card.
- Includes 6 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A (4 at the back, 2 at the front) and 6 x USB 2.0 (2 at the back, 4 at the front), so you can easily connect peripherals, external drives, and accessories.
- Has 2 x HDMI ports on the rear panel, convenient for dual display when using the integrated iGPU from the processor.
- Features M.2 Socket (Key E) and 2 x antenna mounting points on the rear I/O, so you can easily add a Wi-Fi/BT module later if you need wireless connectivity.
Who it is suitable for
This board is a good base for a budget to mid-range DDR5 gaming build, office/work machine, or compact home system where you want a current socket and upgrade options. It is suitable if you don't need extras like built-in Wi-Fi or tons of PCIe slots and prefer a simpler, yet modern and functional board. If you are aiming for extreme overclocking or many GPUs/expansion cards, you might want to look at higher-end and larger form factors.
Most sensible here is the combination of LGA1700 + DDR5 + two PCIe Gen4x4 M.2 slots and 2.5G LAN in a compact Micro ATX chassis. You get a current Intel platform with a good balance between capabilities and price, without unnecessary embellishments.
