Description
ASUS PRIME B760M-A D4-CSM is a Micro ATX motherboard with LGA 1700 socket and Intel B760 chipset, aimed at stable mid-range configurations for work and gaming. It combines support for 12th and 13th generation Intel Core processors with DDR4 memory, so you can upgrade to a new CPU without changing RAM. With two M.2 slots with PCIe 4.0 x4 and several PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, you have a solid foundation for fast NVMe SSD and modern GPU. Add to that Realtek 2.5Gb LAN and 7.1 audio, and you get a balanced platform for a modern desktop.
What you get
The LGA 1700 socket and B760 chipset give you the freedom to use 13th Gen and 12th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron processors, which is convenient for both a budget start and a stronger upgrade later. The four DDR4 memory slots support up to 128 GB RAM and frequencies up to 5333 MHz (OC), so you can combine high density and decent overclocking for multitasking, rendering, or heavy gaming. The two M.2 slots with PCIe 4.0 x4 provide space for fast NVMe SSDs – ideal for a system disk and additional storage for games or projects, while the 4 SATA3 ports cover classic 2.5"/3.5" drives and RAID arrays. At the connectivity level, you are not limited – you have USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, and quite a few USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 ports for all peripherals. Realtek 7.1 audio and 2.5Gb Ethernet complete the picture for a serious desktop without unnecessary extras like Wi-Fi, if you are going to use a cable anyway.
- Socket LGA 1700 with chipset Intel B760 for 13th and 12th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron processors – a good foundation for modern gaming and office configurations.
- 4 DDR4 slots supporting up to 128 GB RAM and frequencies up to 5333 MHz (OC), allowing serious multitasking and future upgrades without changing the motherboard.
- 2 x M.2 slots (Key M, 2242/2260/2280), both supporting PCIe 4.0 x4, for fast NVMe SSDs and compact, silent storage.
- 4 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, suitable for a combination of SSD and HDD or a reliable data array.
- 3 x PCIe 4.0 x16 slots (one at x16, one at x4, and one at x1 mode), providing flexibility for GPU, expansion cards, and additional devices.
- Realtek 7.1 Surround Sound HD Audio CODEC provides quality multi-channel sound for gaming, movies, and voice communication.
- 1 x Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet for higher network throughput compared to standard 1Gb LAN – useful for fast file sharing and online gaming.
- A rich set of USB: USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, several USB 3.2 Gen 1, and up to 9 x USB 2.0/1.1 ports, so you can connect peripherals, external drives, and accessories simultaneously.
- Standard power connectors 1 x 24-pin + 1 x 8-pin, compatible with mainstream ATX power supplies for an easy build.
Who it is suitable for
This motherboard is suitable if you want a stable mid-range Intel build with DDR4 – for example, for 1080p/1440p gaming, office/home desktop, or a workstation with plenty of RAM and fast NVMe drives. It is also suitable if you plan a gradual upgrade – first CPU, then RAM and storage. It is not the best option if your goal is extreme overclocking or integrated Wi-Fi without additional cards.
The combination of LGA 1700 + B760, DDR4 support up to 128 GB, and two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots makes ASUS PRIME B760M-A D4-CSM a very reasonable foundation for a long-term, flexible build without paying for unnecessary extras.
