MSI B850 GAMING PRO WIFI6E is an ATX motherboard for AM5, aimed at mid/high-end gaming and productivity with current Ryzen processors. The combination of AMD B850 chipset, support for Ryzen 9000/8000/7000, and DDR5 memory makes it a stable base for a modern build. You get PCIe 5.0 for GPU and M.2, fast network with 2.5Gbps LAN, and built-in WiFi 6E, plus enough slots for future upgrades. The board is a good starting point if you want to switch to AM5 without compromising connectivity.

What you get – a solid foundation for a configuration with up to 256 GB DDR5 RAM and frequencies up to 8200+ MHz (OC), so both heavy games and rendering/compilation applications have enough “breathing room”. You have two M.2 slots: one goes up to PCIe 5.0 x4 (depending on the processor), which is ideal for a system NVMe with very high speeds, and the second at PCIe 4.0 x4/x2 for additional space for games and projects. The four SATA3 6.0 Gb/s ports allow you to connect classic SSD/HDD for mass storage, including RAID 0/1/10 for speed or redundancy. The built-in WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and 2.5Gbps LAN cover almost every scenario – from low latency in online games to fast network transfer.

CPU socket AM5 with support for Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 Series gives you access to the latest generations of AMD processors and easy upgrades in the future.
DDR5 memory with up to 4 slots and a maximum of 256 GB, plus dual-channel mode and frequencies up to 8200+ MHz (OC), is a serious foundation for high-refresh gaming and heavy multitasking.
2x M.2 slots: M2_1 from CPU with support up to PCIe 5.0 x4 or 4.0 x4 (depending on the Ryzen series) for the fastest NVMe, and M2_2 up to PCIe 4.0 x4/x2 for additional SSD space.
4 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s ports and RAID 0/1/10 allow you to combine several drives for more capacity, speed, or data protection.
4 x PCI-E x16 slots (physical), with PCI_E1 on PCIe 5.0 x16 from CPU for the main GPU and additional PCIe 4.0/3.0 slots from the chipset for expansion cards.
Realtek 8125D 2.5Gbps LAN provides higher bandwidth and lower latency compared to standard 1Gbps LAN – useful for online gaming and NAS.
WiFi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3 provide modern wireless connectivity – from fast WiFi in the 6 GHz band to connection with wireless headphones and peripherals.
1 x 24-pin + 2 x 8-pin power connectors ensure stable power supply to the CPU and motherboard, especially for more powerful processors and overclocking.
Built-in audio saves you the need for a separate sound card for typical gaming and multimedia scenarios.

Who it is suitable for – if you are building an AM5 gaming or productivity configuration with an idea for longevity and upgrade path, this board is a good center. Suitable for 1440p/4K gaming builds, streaming, working with heavy applications, and systems with a lot of storage. It is not aimed at extreme enthusiast overclocking beyond typical daily use, but for normal OC and serious hardware, it is completely OK.

The combination of AM5, DDR5 up to 256 GB, PCIe 5.0 for GPU and M.2, plus WiFi 6E and 2.5Gbps LAN makes MSI B850 GAMING PRO WIFI6E a balanced and future-proof foundation for a serious gaming or work computer.
