Description
MSI PRO B760-P II DDR5 is an ATX motherboard with Intel B760 chipset and LGA1700 socket, aimed at a stable mid-range build with current Intel processors. It supports 12th, 13th, and 14th generation Intel Core, so you can easily plan upgrades in the coming years. With DDR5 memory up to 7000+ MHz (OC) and a maximum of 256 GB RAM, you have serious resources for multitasking, work, and gaming. Add to that 2.5G LAN, M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, and a decent I/O panel for its class, and you get a very balanced foundation for a modern PC.
What you get
With LGA1700 and Intel B760, you have direct compatibility with 14th, 13th, and 12th Gen Intel Core CPUs, without worrying about transitional boards and exoticities. The four DDR5 slots with dual-channel mode and support for up to 7000+ MHz (OC) provide a good combination of capacity and speed – suitable for both fast gaming and heavy applications. The two M.2 slots, both with PCIe 4.0 x4, ensure modern speeds for NVMe SSDs, whether they come from the CPU or the chipset. The 4 SATA3 ports with RAID 0/1/5/10 allow you to create a secure mass storage for games, movies, or archives. Realtek ALC897 7.1 audio and the 2.5G LAN chip cover the needs for gaming, voice chat, and stable networking quite well, without needing separate cards.
- LGA1700 socket with Intel B760 chipset, designed for 14th, 13th, and 12th Gen Intel Core processors – a good base for a modern gaming or work build.
- DDR5 memory with up to 4 slots, dual-channel configuration, and a maximum capacity of 256 GB, providing serious potential for multitasking and heavy applications.
- Support for RAM frequencies up to 7000+ MHz (OC), suitable for higher FPS and faster reactions in latency-sensitive tasks.
- Two M.2 slots – M.2_1 from CPU and M.2_2 from chipset, both up to PCIe 4.0 x4 and lengths 2242/2260/2280, for fast NVMe SSDs with high bandwidth.
- 4 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, allowing you to combine SSD/HDD for capacity, speed, and/or data redundancy.
- Realtek ALC897 7.1-Channel HD Audio with optical S/PDIF-OUT on the rear panel for a cleaner signal to a receiver or external audio system.
- Dragon RTL8125BG 2.5 Gigabit LAN (up to 2500 Mb/s), which provides significantly higher bandwidth and lower ping compared to standard 1G LAN, provided your network supports it.
- 1 x PCIe 4.0 x16 for the main GPU and 1 x PCIe 3.0 x1 for additional cards (audio, capture, network), allowing you to expand the system according to your needs.
- Rich I/O: HDMI and DisplayPort from the integrated video, USB 10Gbps Type-C (rear), several USB 5Gbps Type-A and Type-C at the front, plus USB 2.0 for peripherals.
- Power connectors 1 x 24-pin + 2 x 8-pin for stable power delivery to the CPU and motherboard, suitable for more powerful chips.
Who is this suitable for?
This motherboard is a logical choice for mid-range to upper mid-range Intel builds – gaming at high settings, productivity, streaming, and working with more RAM. It is suitable if you want a DDR5 platform with good storage options and 2.5G LAN, without paying extra for built-in Wi-Fi or features you won’t use. If you are looking for a compact system (mATX/ITX) or absolutely want built-in Wi-Fi, this chassis is not your format.
The combination of support for the new Intel generations, DDR5 up to 7000+ MHz, PCIe 4.0 M.2, and 2.5G LAN makes MSI PRO B760-P II DDR5 a very solid backbone for a current and long-term build. You get balanced functionality without unnecessary embellishments and have room for upgrades in the coming years.
