ASUS TUF GAMING VG249QM5A - 23.8 inch Fast IPS FHD(1920x1080) 240Hz, 0.3ms, G-Sync, FreeSync monitor

The ASUS TUF GAMING VG249QM5A is a 23.8-inch gaming monitor aimed at serious competitive and fast-paced gaming in 1080p. The combination of Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and a 240 Hz refresh rate gives you very smooth motion and good readability of objects at speed. Add 1 ms response time and G-SYNC Compatible support, and you get a panel oriented towards minimal blur and a more stable image at variable FPS. The 23.8" size is the golden mean for 1080p – clear text, good overview, and easy tracking of the whole picture in shooters and MOBA.

What you get is a monitor that bets on speed without completely sacrificing the image. 240 Hz makes a huge difference compared to standard 60/75 Hz – mouse and camera movements are much smoother, and target tracking is easier. With 1 ms response time, you reduce blur during sharp pans and fast transitions between dark and light, which is critical in competitive shooters. The brightness of 300 cd/m² is fully sufficient for a normal room and gives you comfortable gaming without washing out the image. Thanks to the 178°/178° viewing angles, you can look from the side without a serious change in colors and contrast — useful if you often move around in front of the desk. And with 15 W power consumption, the monitor remains quite economical, even if you keep it running all day.

• 23.8" diagonal provides a compact size that allows you to track the entire screen without much eye movement — ideal for FPS and competitive games.
• 1920 x 1080 resolution puts less load on the GPU, which helps you reach high FPS more easily to fully utilize 240 Hz.
• 240 Hz refresh rate provides very smooth motion and better visibility of targets during fast actions compared to standard 60/144 Hz panels.
• 1 ms response time reduces motion blur and ghosting, so objects remain clearer during sharp movements.
• G-SYNC Compatible technology synchronizes frames between the GPU and the monitor to reduce tearing and stuttering at variable fps.
• 300 cd/m² brightness and 1000:1 static contrast ensure good readability and decent separation of light and dark scenes for everyday gaming and multimedia.
• 178°/178° viewing angles maintain stable colors and contrast even when you are not directly in the center in front of the panel.
• 100000000:1 dynamic contrast helps automatically adapt brightness according to content for a more pronounced difference between dark and light scenes.
• 0.2745 mm pixel size provides a typical density for a 24" FHD, sufficient for clear details and comfortable text at standard distance.
• 2 x HDMI interface allows you to connect a PC and a console or a second source simultaneously without constant unplugging.
• VESA 100 x 100 mm compatibility gives you the option for wall or arm mounting, which compensates for the lack of height adjustment and swivel.
• 15 W power consumption keeps electricity bills low, which is a plus if the monitor works many hours a day.

Who is this model suitable for? If your main focus is fast competitive games in 1080p – shooters, battle royale, MOBA – 240 Hz and 1 ms will serve you better than a higher resolution. It is also suitable for weaker or mid-range configurations, because 1080p does not require such a powerful GPU to reach high fps. It is not the best choice if you are looking for a large screen for movies from a far distance or super fine detail for photo/video work.

The combination of 240 Hz, 1 ms, and G-SYNC Compatible in a compact 23.8" FHD format makes the ASUS TUF GAMING VG249QM5A a very sensible choice if you are chasing a fast, responsive image and stable smoothness in games. You get a focused gaming monitor without unnecessary extras, which does exactly what it is bought for – to give you a predictable and fast image in action scenes.
