Processor AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D Tray - 100-100000719

16 cores for work and X3D cache for gaming

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D combines two things that are usually found in different processors: 16 cores and 32 threads for heavy workloads and 3D V-Cache for gaming. The architecture is Zen 5, the frequency reaches up to 5.7 GHz, and the third-level cache is 128 MB.

The processor is built from two blocks of 8 cores each. The additional cache is on one of them, and the AMD chipset driver sends games to the cores with the cache. Therefore, in games it performs like the 9800X3D, while for rendering, compiling, and video editing it uses all 16 cores.

Who it is suitable for

• For people who work and game on a single computer — 3D graphics, video editing, programming, and games in the evening.
• For high-quality streaming while gaming.
• If the computer is only for gaming, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D delivers almost the same frames at a significantly lower price.

Which version to choose

The processor is the same in all versions. The difference is in the packaging and whether a cooler is included:

• Box — in a retail box, without a cooler.
• Tray — without a retail box, just the processor, without a cooler — this page.

The warranty for each version is specified in the specifications. Choose based on price and availability.

What else you need

• AM5 motherboard — X870 or a better B850 with stable processor power delivery. AM5 motherboards
• DDR5 memory — 2×32 GB DDR5-6000 is a reasonable minimum for work. DDR5-6000 memory
• Cooler — TDP is 170 W. We recommend a 280–360 mm liquid or a large dual-tower air cooler. Coolers for AM5

9950X3D, 9950X3D2 or 9900X3D?

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 has additional cache on both blocks (192 MB) — it is slightly faster, but also more expensive, with higher power consumption. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D has 12 cores and is cheaper if you do not need all 16.

Questions and answers

Do I need to configure anything for games to run on the correct cores?

Install the latest AMD chipset driver and update Windows. They distribute games automatically.

Can I overclock it?

Yes, the multiplier is unlocked and it supports Precision Boost Overdrive.

Is there a cooler in the box?

No, a separate and good cooler is required.
