At CES 2022, AMD announced that it is launching a new feature based on FidelityFX Super Resolution, called RSR (Radeon Super Resolution). The company confirmed that this technology will arrive with new drivers sometime in the first quarter. AMD RSR is a full-screen scaling technology that, unlike FSR, does not rely on software implementation from game developers.
Meanwhile, NVIDIA made a surprising announcement today about a new functionality called Deep Learning Dynamic Super Resolution (DLDSR). This is an AI-driven scaling technology that uses Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR). As we know, DSR has been available in GeForce drivers for quite some time. DLDSR, in turn, is an improvement over DSR that adds an AI layer powered by NVIDIA Tensor cores. This, as you might guess, also means that it will again be exclusively available for NVIDIA RTX graphics cards.

- SSRTGI (Screen Space Ray Traced Global Illumination), known as the „Ray Tracing ReShade Filter“ enhances the lighting and shadows of your favorite titles to create a greater sense of depth and realism.
- SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion) emphasizes the appearance of shadows near the intersections of 3D objects, especially in dimly lit/interior environments.
- Dynamic DOF (Depth of Field) applies bokeh-style blurring based on the proximity of objects in the scene, giving your game a more cinematic feel and suspense. With a combination of DLDSR and SSRTGI, you will be able to enjoy a remastered experience in classic games like Prey.
Both features will be available in the upcoming drivers that will be released on January 14.
